WASI 8mm x 20m A316 Stainless Anchor-Chain DIN 766

The WASI stainless steel anchor chains are stained and electropolished which makes the surfaces very smooth. This means there is hardly any ad-hesion of mud, sand and vegetation. In addition, the stainless steel chains run easily and smoothly over the winch due to the smooth surface and there is no pile formation in the chain box when the winch is pulled in.

Electropolishing microscopically smoothes the surface by electrochemical material removal. In addition, chrome and nickel accumulate on the surface, which leads to the formation of a very resistant passive layer. This combination of reduced surface area and optimum passive layer results in excellent corrosion resistance

All WASI anchor chains are calibrated and true to gauge and are therefore suitable for anchor winches. Material certificates for the WASI anchor chains can be issued on request for a premium of 150€.

WASI anchor chains made of A4 (AISI316) are preferably recommended in cold to medium warm waters such as the North and Baltic Sea. The use in the Mediterranean Sea is also possible with regular maintenance.For voyages into warm or southern waters with water temperatures from 25 °C we recommend the use of the WASI anchor chain made of duplex steel (1.4462
