HELM PUMP

SAFETY BYPASS VALVE
This valve safeguards against
damage to the hydraulic lines
or steering gear if the rudder
collides with an object.
STEERING
CYLINDER
The oil enters the
cylinder, causing the
piston rod to move.
RUDDER
The rudder steers the boat.
TILLER ARM
The cylinder moves the
tiller arm, which then
moves the rudder.
